Horton Plains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a highland plateau rich in biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Located in Nuwara Eliya, it is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular national parks for trekking and wildlife.


Overview and Elevation

At about 2,100 meters above sea level, Horton Plains is the highest plateau in Sri Lanka. The cool climate, montane grasslands, and cloud forests make it a unique environment.

  • World’s End – A dramatic 880-meter drop offering breathtaking views on clear mornings.
  • Baker’s Falls – A beautiful cascading waterfall nestled within the forest.
